I’m having a busy productive time going through song snippets I’ve been humming into my phone throughout the year on my travels. The week in London with Phil Thornalley was fantastic as always and now I’m getting ready to start writing new material with Kaj Skjervik here in Cornwall. Enjoying the very mild sunny days and blue skies, watching the sun set over the ocean and generally counting my blessings. Not sure if the new songs will be part of a new album or just ideas for the fun of it. Time will tell, but for the first time in a very long time I don’t feel pressured to rush. I no longer feel that I’m behind where I want to be. There’s lots I want to do and see and create but right now I’m resting my frozen shoulder (from over doing the paintings) & listening to the birds. Have a happy Autumn xx
Holifair Festival was great! Calm, fun, family atmosphere. Next door to the Cabaret Marquee we sat in the prettily decorated English Tea tent. Homemade cup cakes and chunks of flapjack, sipping out of vintage cups and saucers with big pots of tea, looking out onto the grass as children skipped happily by. Wonderful. I’m looking forward to next year already
Wow!! Thank you to everyone who came to the gig last night! So many happy faces!! I’ll put the film on YouTube as soon as I get it back from Mitch. Kaj and myself had such a fun time and now looking forward to the next gig at Glenfeadon Park in Portreath on 25th June. Happy days!! Feeling good so good!!
It was fantastic to be in London this week with Phil Thornalley! We recorded two of the new songs and started two more. It’s great to be moving forward and creating towards the next album. The train from Paddington to Penzance provides lots of time for day dreaming and I’ve more ideas starting to take shape. This weekend I’m off to the beach to take more close ups of the rocks for my new paintings and Phil Nicholls, who took the lovely photos for the Tiny Spark album is meeting me there to take a few photos of me at my easel for Cornwall Today and Coastal Magazine. It’s a fun filled time at the moment thats for sure!
I loved the long drive up for the BBC Radio Lancashire gig last week! Two new songs dropped into my head on the journey and the 8 hours condensed into what seemed like 3. Absolute magic!! It was lovely to see John Gilmore and Keith who played guitar for me. Thanks to everyone that came along!
Today was fantastic!! I loved it!!! I picked Kaj up this morning and drove into Truro. It was a sunny morning and we set up in the middle of Music Nostalgia record shop in the Pannier Market off Lemon Quay. After giving out a few flyers we started our first set around midday and then two more sets, finishing around 2.30 pm, as people walked by in their lunch hour and stopped and listened. It was so lovely to see lots of families out shopping and stopping to enjoy the music! Great feedback and a lot of fun! Thank you Pete and Heather for having us!
It was great to chat with David White on BBC Radio Cornwall today! He played ‘Easy As 123′, ‘Best Time Ever’, ‘Kiss Me Quick’ and ‘If I Could’ from the album and talked about the album launch at Music Nostalgia in Truro, tomorrow. Kaj came round this afternoon and we ran through the songs… We’re looking forward to it!
